Himlung Himal (7,126m) is a remote mountain located on the Nepal-Tibet border. It was only opened for climbing expeditions in 1992 and since then, many successful national and international teams have reached the summit. The expedition route for Himlung Himal follows the Annapurna circuit to Koto and from Koto to the Nar-Phu village. Along the way, climbers will pass through high mountain passes, glaciers, narrow gullies, forests, monasteries, and ancient villages. The views from the summit of Himlung Himal are breathtaking, with panoramic mountain views of Nandadevi, Api Himal, Kappa Chuli Peak, and many others.
Climbing Himlung Himal is considered technically easy and offers a unique experience, including a trek along off-beaten paths, pristine forests, ancient cultures, and traditional lifestyles of the mountain people. Before reaching the summit, three camps must be set up above the base camp - Camp I at 5,450m, Camp II at 6,150m, and Camp III at 6,375m. The summit climb is steep and icy, but the reward is worth it. After reaching the summit, climbers will then descend back to the base camp.
